Coco Starts a New

This blog post has been delayed due to lazyness and work obligations. Now, being unemployed, I have a lot of free time so I can focus on more important things like blogging.

Have you noticed that Conan has started his new show on TBS. Oh, you have. Shit. This is not starting very well.

Anyways here are my thoughts about the new show.

I was totally excited about Conan's new show and had really high expectations. I think so did Conan and his crew, because Conan was visibly nervous during the first couple of shows. After a couple of weeks I think Conan got his act together and was again able to relax infront of the camera.

This new show has proven atleast one thing. The style of comedy that Conan his writers do can not be adapted to suit Tonight Show. There needs to be that edge and sillyness in their comedy. Or maybe, and actually I vote for this option, it is just the fact that the audience of Tonight Show is so much older that they just do not understand Conan's comedy. The comedy in the new show is atleast as good as the in Late Night. And you can see that people doing the show are having fun.

Conan is enjoyable to watch and even the product placements do not bother me that much.

Conan on TBS

Oh yeah. Conan's new show is starting on TBS on the 8th of November. Definately going to watch. I do not want to forget to watch the first show. That is why I added the counter.

BTW. Still getting lot of hits because of the blogs I wrote about Conan earlier. That's cool.

I'm With Coco

I just noticed that the blog entry I wrote in June about Conan O'Brien and his new show has received a lot of hits from the United States during the last week or so. Cool.

Eventhough this argument between NBC and Conan (which is an under statement) has caused a lot of sleepless nights for many people, it has produced a lot of great comedy. The shows have been extremely funny and entertaining and it seems that the writers are not holding back anything.

Anywho the situation for Team Coco looks kinda bleak, at least if you believe the various stories on the media that this Friday would be the last show for Conan as the host for Tonight Show.

I still do not expect Conan to be sacked after this week. I am sure that this episode will make the show more interesting and launch the Tonight Show back to the top of ratings.

The Tonight Show with Conan "Coco" O'Brien

Now that Conan's new show has been runnig for couple of weeks and I've seen more than one show I want to share with you what I think about The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

First of all I was really excited about the new show and my expectations were really high. However I knew that the new show would not have as much of the dark humor and dirty jokes as LNWCO that I grew up with. The first couple of shows were clearly not that funny. They were trying to do a more cleaner version of Late Night but it was not working. Sometimes I felt that they were trying to replace the dirty jokes with just being silly and that is what they ended up with, something silly that was not at all funny.

I think that the show has been working a bit better for the last five shows mainly because they have brought back the same kind of comedy as in Late Night. The show will propably loose some of its older viewers but what can you do. Interview with William Shatner was the same kind of over the top humor as in Late Night and it was one the first times since the new show started airing that I have been really laughing.

But still I think there are lot of things they need to improve. The monologue is too long and the stupid pre-filmed jokes they show are not that funny. I also hate the Twitter Tracker bit, its totally brainddead joke. I do not see what part of it should be considered funny. I just hope that the show starts to feel more real. Now it looks like all the jokes are written in advance and have been approved by the network executives.

Anyhow I hope all the best for Conan's show and that they get their act together.
